Long before that, he generously volunteered his time coaching multiple sports—demonstrating a deep commitment to student athletes and their growth. Coach Taylor is known for his strong work ethic and passion for athletics. He is excited to work with the student-athletes of Spring Hill and is committed to helping them become the best versions of themselves both on and off the court. Coach Smead is a graduate of Fordyce High School, where he contributed to multiple state championship football titles. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management with a focus on Coaching from Southern Arkansas University.
Coach Smead brings a strong passion for athletics, health, and education, and he’s excited to work with our students and community—both on the field, on the court, and in the classroom.

We are excited to announce that Mrs. Amanda Maxey will be joining our team as the High School Art Teacher beginning in the 2025–2026 school year!
Mrs. Maxey was born and raised in Alaska, though she has strong family roots in South West Arkansas where she spent her summers and graduated from Horatio High School. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Journalism at Arkansas Tech then proceeded to get her Masters of Arts in Teaching from Henderson State University. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, cherishing family time, being creative, playing music, and being outdoors.
Mrs. Maxey is excited to begin her 13th year of teaching and looks forward to working with our students and community. She brings a passion for creativity and a love for students, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things she’ll contribute as she helps continue to grow our art program and inspire a love for the arts in our students.

Volleyball season is almost here!! If you are interested in playing this year, Mrs. Porter will be holding a meeting for parents and students in the gym on May 6th at 6:30pm.

🎶2025-26 9th-12th Grade Band Sign-up in the office or Ms. Copeland’s room.🎶
Tryouts: May 6th and 7th at 3:30-4:00pm
When you sign up for Band, you will also sign up for a tryout time that works best with your schedule. You will not need to attend both tryout days. Anyone can play in the Band. These tryouts serve the purpose of seeing which instrument is best for you and the Band. If you have any questions, contact Ms. Copeland.

Last week, Spring Hill FFA sent 11 members to the 98th Arkansas FFA Convention & Expo. They attended workshops and general sessions and mingled with fellow FFA members from other chapters.
On Wednesday the 23rd, Kassidy Beasley, Freya Dowell, and Anna Sweat received their Arkansas State Farmer Degree.
This is the highest level of recognition awarded in the state! ⭐️
