Spring Hill High School has the following opening for the 2020-21 School Year:

Chemistry Teacher and Other Secondary Science Courses (as assigned)

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field; Valid Arkansas teaching license in one of the following licensure codes: 135, 136, 133, 267, 269, 6530, 6535, 6546, 169, 170, 251 Teaching experience preferred but not required. This position is responsible for providing instruction and support designed to prepare students for current and future success.

Essential Functions:

1.Report to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis

2.Teach District approved curriculum daily

3.Implement school or district curricular goals

4.Participate in all prescribed professional development programs and activities

5.Develops lesson plans and instructional materials

6.Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive and appropriate to learning in both appearance and activities

7.Motivate students to learn

8.Carries out lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences daily

9.Guides the learning process toward the achievement of learning objectives and curriculum goals daily

10.Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities daily

11.Progress monitor students’ growth (academic/social/behavior) and report monitoring data

12.Communicate with students and parents on student progress on a continuous basis

13.Actively participates on content and/or grade level team(s) within the school

14.Participate in collegial and professional activities within the school and District

15.Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations

16.Develop and administer content specific assessments for the purpose of assessing student competency levels

17.Instruct students for the purpose of improving their success in academics through a defined course of study

18.Maintain personal safety of students

19.Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and /or directing to appropriate personnel for resolution

20.Ensure that substitutes will have all information necessary for effective instruction

21.Follow state, district, and school policies and expectations

22.Other duties as assigned
